I am grateful for a lot in my life, not the least of which are the many faithful people I serve alongside at Watermark! We value service in our church. At Watermark, we believe that we will make an impression and leave a mark as we serve Christ and serve other’s for Christ’s sake! Jesus made very clear how much He valued serving others. On the night of His last supper with His disciples, He humbled Himself to wash their feet, then said: 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. John 13:15. Jesus called us to serve which is a reflection of our love for God and our love for others. (Matthew 22:37-39)
So how can we do that? At Watermark, we serve God and others in three distinct ways:
We serve within the church to make an impression and leave a mark for Jesus. There is a role for you at Watermark! My hope is that everyone who calls Watermark home will find a place to serve. Our ministry staff leads several teams with openings for you! Please reach out to them this week if you are willing to serve. We want to serve with you!
We serve with the church in the community and the world to make an impression and leave a mark for Jesus Christ. There are many ministries ongoing now that with a vital role for you to play! Will you join us?
We serve others personally for Christ’s sake to make an impression and leave a mark for Him. Who is your neighbor? Who can you serve? Jesus answered that question in the story of The Good Samaritan found in Luke 10:25-37. There are people around you right now, where you live, work and play, who you can serve for Christ’s sake. Are your eyes open to those opportunities?
