Joel has been the Lead Pastor at Watermark since its inception in 2007. He graduated from Southeastern Theological Seminary in Wake Forest with a Master of Divinity in 1994 after earning a B.S. in Business Administration from The UNC at Charlotte in 1990. He was born and raised in Rowan County, NC and has served in various vocational ministry roles for over 30 years in five local churches including the role of church planter and lead pastor for nearly 20 of those years. He has a passion for reaching lost people and leading them to discover the life-changing difference Jesus Christ will make in their lives today, and forever!

Harriet recently joined the Watermark Worship Team. She is currently earning a degree in social work and has served in vocational ministry in worship and youth ministry roles for the past several years. We are truly blessed to have Harriet on our staff team as our Worship Ministry Director.

Lori, along with her husband Pastor Joel, has had a long history of serving in the local church. After graduating from UNCC with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Secondary Education, she wanted to further her education in theology and attended Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Lori has served in youth and children's vocational ministry positions in four local churches over the years. She started the children's ministry at Watermark when the church launched in 2008 and began serving in a part-time vocational role in 2016.

Jason has recently joined the Watermark staff as our Student Ministry Pastor. He has been serving in youth ministry for over 15 years, bringing strong Christian values and beliefs and an amazing energy level. Jason and his wife, Lindsey, are originally from the Baltimore area and moved to North Carolina from Northwest Pennsylvania. Jason and Lindsey passionately love to share the gospel, make disciples who make more disciples, and help youth and young adults understand more about the love of Jesus. Jason has a degree in theology and Student Ministries from Lancaster Bible College, a Master's degree in teaching, and he is currently pursuing a Master's of Divinity degree at Liberty University.

Leslie joined the Watermark staff in early 2017. After earning a Master's Degree in Family Life Science from Concordia University in May 2016, Leslie mothballed the marketing firm she founded in 1994 and moved to North Carolina from Michigan with her husband. Leslie brings over 20 years of experience leading and serving in ministry - children's, youth, young adult, and small groups. Here at Watermark, Leslie helps to coordinate ministries that connect the Watermark community to one another and to the world.

Mark was born and raised in upstate New York and migrated to North Carolina almost 30 years ago. He is a trained Stephen Minister (focus on peer care), has a Bachelors Degree in Biblical Counseling and is a certified Chaplain through Billy Graham Evangelical Association. Mark leads ReNew Ministry, helping those facing hard times, tough decisions, or stressful circumstances in life, providing counseling and spiritual mentorship/discipleship to Watermarkers.
