Joel has been the Lead Pastor at Watermark since its inception in 2007. He graduated from Southeastern Theological Seminary in Wake Forest with a Master of Divinity in 1994 after earning a B.S. in Business Administration from The UNC at Charlotte in 1990. He was born and raised in Rowan County, NC and has served in various vocational ministry roles for over 30 years in five local churches including the role of church planter and lead pastor for nearly 20 of those years. He has a passion for reaching lost people and leading them to discover the life-changing difference Jesus Christ will make in their lives today, and forever!

Lori, along with her husband Pastor Joel, has had a long history of serving in the local church. After graduating from UNCC with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Secondary Education, she wanted to further her education in theology and attended Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Lori has served in youth and children's vocational ministry positions in four local churches over the years. She started the children's ministry at Watermark when the church launched in 2008 and began serving in a part-time vocational role in 2016.

Mark was born and raised in upstate New York and migrated to North Carolina almost 30 years ago. He is a trained Stephen Minister (focus on peer care), has a Bachelors Degree in Biblical Counseling and is a certified Chaplain through Billy Graham Evangelical Association. Mark leads ReNew Ministry, helping those facing hard times, tough decisions, or stressful circumstances in life, providing counseling and spiritual mentorship/discipleship to Watermarkers.

Harriet has served in vocational ministry in both Worship and Youth ministry roles for years before coming to Watermark. She is a passionate leader, driven by a deep love for the Lord, music, and mentoring young hearts. As Worship Director, her musical expertise blends seamlessly with a deep-rooted desire to bring people closer to the essence of faith through song. As Youth Director, she plants seeds of hope and courage in every young soul through engaging activities, meaningful discussions, and transformative outreach. Harriet is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in ministry leadership at Liberty University.

Brooke, along with her husband Hunter and their two beautiful daughters, have been a joyful part of the Watermark Church family since relocating to Troutman from Raleigh in September 2023. With a background in marketing, event planning, and hospitality, Brooke is uniquely positioined to excel in her role as our Community Life Ministry Director. Her passion for serving others and fostering connections aligns perfectly with Watermark's mission to create a welcoming and engaging environment for all.

Kory is a passionate educator who embarked on a journey of faith and family when she relocated from sunny California to the welcoming town of Troutman in July 2022. With both a bachelor's and master's degree in education, Kory brings over 13 years of experience in public education, equipping her with the skills to nurture and inspire the next generation. Kory's heart has always led her to serve in various roles within the local church, where she has dedicated much of her life to children's ministry. She is committed to creating a welcoming space for children to explore their faith and grow in their understanding of God's love.
