Are you in a dark place?

Giving sight to the blind was a miracle that Jesus performed more than any other. Why? In part because this would be a sign of the Messiah. According to Isaiah, 18 In that day the deaf will hear the words of the scroll, and out of gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind will see. Isaiah 29:18. Hundreds of years later, after Jesus had come, John recorded: 31 But these (miracles) are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. John 20:31

Jesus came to bring light to a world suffering in gloom and darkness! 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. John 1:4 Jesus doesn’t want us to live in darkness or gloom. But the truth is that all of us live in spiritual darkness caused by sin until we trust Jesus as Savior and invite Him to be Lord of our lives. Have you seen the Light or do you still sit in darkness? The great news is you don’t have to live in gloom and darkness!

In the miraculous healing of a man who had been born blind, captured in John 9, Jesus’ disciples ask Jesus why this happened to him? Why was he sitting in darkness? Maybe you are in a dark place today or going through a dark season in your life and you’re asking why? So why was this man blind, unable to care for himself, forced to beg to survive? Jesus told His disciples, 3this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. God was about to do an amazing work in his life! He would give him a testimony… and He can give you one too!

Maybe you are going through a dark time in your life… dealing with a struggling marriage, a difficult relationship, a serious ailment, a painful loss or a heavy burden. No doubt, we all go through those gloomy seasons. Do you believe that God will help you through those dark days? Do you believe that He could work, even in those darkest moments? He can! 28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28. Believe it!
