COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL
In January 2025, Watermark held the first Compassion Sunday where we learned about Compassion International’s goal of rescuing children from poverty around the world in Jesus’ name.
Through CI, we help children living in poverty and empower them to create brighter futures for themselves, their families, their communities and the world. Through the incredible generosity of Watermarkers, we are currently sponsoring 180+ children in four countries (Peru, Thailand, Kenya, and Guatemala) to help break the cycle of poverty by providing access to education, health care and basic necessities.
Children sponsored through Compassion are surrounded by safe, caring adults in local churches who know them individually, live out the love of Jesus and offer the specific support they need as they journey out of poverty.

NIGHT OF COMPASSION
Once a year, Watermark hosts a Compassion Gathering, a special evening that brings together everyone who is part of our Compassion International partnership. Sponsors have the opportunity to connect with one another, share stories about the children they support, learn practical letter-writing tips, and discover meaningful ways to strengthen their relationship with their sponsored child.
The Compassion Gathering is also a great opportunity for those who are new to Watermark, or anyone who has not yet sponsored a child, to learn more about this life-changing ministry and how they can make an eternal impact.
Join us as we celebrate the incredible relationships God is building between our church family and children around the world. Together, we'll honor those who faithfully sponsor a child, hear stories of God's faithfulness, and witness how lives are being transformed through the love of Christ.
