Children's Relief International

In March of 2024 Watermark began partnering with a missionary couple, Errol and Igraima Zimmerman, through Children’s Relief International in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic as they serve the needs of impoverished Dominican and Haitian children in Christ’s name. CRI addresses the most urgent spiritual and physical needs in our world through Christian education, nutrition, homes, and more. They begin with children, but their care extends to the whole community. Their goal is to awaken God's people to compassion and generosity through team experiences, building living bridges that bring life and hope to the people around them.

Since then, Watermark has sent teams down multiple times to assist the Zimmermans at their Institute of Christian Education and Formation. This ministry includes a preschool, after-school tutoring, and discipleship training for the helpers & teachers. The IFEC center provides an environment that demonstrates God’s light and grace in the midst of the bleak realities faced by locals and Haitian refugees.

In addition, in March of 2025, the Zimmermans, with the assistance of our Watermark team, launched a new church called the Light and Grace Bible Church which ministers mostly to Haitian families in the La Joya district near their tutoring center. What a blessing it has been to be the hands and feet of Jesus to a hurting community! Our plan is to continue to send teams down twice a year to support their work as we “make an impression and leave a mark for Jesus Christ” to the ends of the Earth!!
