The Holy Spirit & You

Life is wonderful, but it can be treacherous at times.  Thankfully, there are plenty of moments to celebrate; but there are also times when we find ourselves desperately in need of guidance and wisdom.  Maybe you are there today... facing a challenge in your life, searching for hope and answers.  If you aren't, you will be!  Where do you turn in those moments?


In worship this past Sunday at Watermark, as we continued our Essentials series, we learned about the power, understanding and guidance that believers are offered through the Holy Spirit.   The great news for all of us is that the Holy Spirit is ready to go to work in our lives, first making us aware of our need for salvation that comes through Jesus Christ, then taking up residence in us - providing power we need to overcome life's struggles, help to understand and apply God's Word, and guidance we need to make right, God-honoring choices.  20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,  Ephesians 3:20 Who doesn't need that?!  


If you have not yet asked Jesus Christ to save you, start there! 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace. Ephesians 1:7.  Then trust that the Holy Spirit will enter your life to get to work in you.  Jesus promised, 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever-  John 14:16.  If you are struggling today, know and believe that you have an advocate in the Holy Spirit.  Invite Him to stir in your life, to offer you power, understanding and guidance!  For much more, listen to Essentials, Part 3:  Holy Spirit.
